How AI credits work

1 credit = 1 AI action. Triage, auto-resolve, and sidekick each consume one credit when they run.

Paid plans get a monthly allocation that resets. Purchased top-up credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly allocation.

How does the 7-day free trial work?

Every new workspace gets 7 days of full Pro access — all features, all AI capabilities, 300 AI credits — with no credit card required. Pick a paid plan before day 7 to keep your workspace active. If you don't, the workspace becomes read-only with your data preserved; subscribe anytime to restore everything.

What counts as an AI credit?

1 credit = 1 AI action: a triage run, an auto-resolve attempt, or a sidekick suggestion. Purchased credits never expire and stack on top of your monthly allocation.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from the billing page. Annual plans save roughly 17% compared to monthly.

What channels are supported?

Email (Postmark inbound, Amazon SES, or Gmail forwarding), WhatsApp (Cloud API + Baileys), Slack, and Discord — all unified in one shared inbox. In-app chat is on the roadmap.

Do I need to pay for viewers?

No. Viewers are unlimited on every plan. Only billable roles (admin, agent) count against your seat limit.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Sign up with email only. We'll only ask for payment if you decide to upgrade after the 7-day Pro trial.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

AI actions pause. Your inbox keeps working normally — agents can still reply manually. Top up any time from the billing page, or wait for your next monthly refresh.

Can I bring my own AI model?

On Business+, yes. Choose from a range of supported models in settings.

How is Protodesk different from Help Scout or Zendesk?

Protodesk is purpose-built for teams that need WhatsApp and email in one inbox with AI doing the heavy lifting. Help Scout is email-first with bolt-on channels. Zendesk is enterprise-heavy with a price tag to match.

Can I self-host Protodesk?
